Down but not out...

Supposedly, the Skins are trying a new approach of not overpaying for high profile free agents. The truth is, we are the only team that has cap issues, even though the cap has been raised this year to it's highest it's been in recent years. So, even if we wanted some bigger name guys, we probably wouldn't be able to sign them and sign our draft picks... HOWEVER, the Skins should not let all of free agency go by without signing a few quality guys. The Skins have a few needs and positions where they need to add depth or need an upgrade, none of which have been addressed, and probably are too many in number to be addressed by only draft picks. It is my opinion that the Skins should have made a move for DeAngelo Hall. Especially if you could have gotten him for a 2nd round draft choice like the Raiders are doing. DeAngelo is arguably one of the best corners in the league and he's still relatively young. This would have been perfect for the Skins as they would gain a new starting corner, not have to gamble on a 2nd rounder and potentially have to pay money to a player that may turn out not to be of NFL caliber. This year's draft class is pretty shallow and weak in my opinion, except for DE's and LB's. So far during free agency, I have not been impressed, nor does the Skins' actions instill that much confidence. I hate when there are such big changes within an organization, because you never know what to expect the following season... are they going to start back up where they left off? Or are they going to have to start all over again? Just hire me as a GM and I'll make sure that the Skins have a competitive team every year...

Now on to the AFC... Furry I must say I disagree with you. Everyone preaches about how the AFC is so dominant, has so many great teams, and how much better the competition is than the NFC. Yes, I do admit there are some phenomenal teams in the AFC, however I also believe that many of the teams outside of the top 4 or 5 in the AFC have their records padded a bit. The AFC while having powerhouses in recent years of the Steelers, Colts, Patriots, and the Chargers, there are also piss-poor teams; Bills, Dolphins, Raiders, Jets, Chiefs, Texans, and the Broncos of late. I feel that these lower echelon teams provide an easier road to the playoffs and provide teams with better records with easy wins. Whereas in the NFC, even the worst team has a chance to beat one of the leaders in the NFC due to the physical playing style and tenacious, stingy defense that the NFC is known for. Making every game within the conference a potential must win game to make the playoffs. Don't get me wrong, the NFC has some teams... like the Seahawks, who have a pretty easy road to get to the playoffs each year, however, many of the teams need to fight and grind through every game they play, take the NFC East. Come on... 3 teams in the playoffs from 1 division?! That's a great indication of how tough the competition is and that there is not a large gap or fall-off in quality of teams after the top few teams, like there is in the AFC. With that out in the open... I agree with Furry, watch out for the Browns. They got robbed last year, and didn't get in the playoffs, but this year, they are definitely a playoff team. Let's just hope that Jamal can show us that last year was not a fluke, and Andersen can make the most out of his potentially one and only shot... dazzle us.

TIGER MOTHERFUCKING-GOLF-PHENOM WOODS. I won't lie, I was a little worried for you, after hearing that you were more than 7 shots behind... only to watch you step up your game and get into a tie for the lead... Honestly... I don't why I doubted you... but I did. I have nothing to say except, "I'm sorry I have ever doubted you. In restitution for my lack of faith, I will name either my first born or Furry's first born after you."
As for Singh... WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?! You have not won anything... in who knows how long, and you blow a 7 shot lead? You may start wondering if golf has passed you by... or maybe, you have to stop being such a pussy and letting the pressure get to you. Yea, you're playing against Tiger Woods, but you too were once ranked #1 in the world. Sober up, hunker down, and start playing good golf... I mean... honestly now, 2 shots into water hazards? Put me in coach... I can do that.

Tons of sports to watch today... ACC tourny, Rockets vs. Lakers, Arnold Palmer invitational...
Furry, food for thought, UEFA Cup and Champions League semi's are starting soon... Barcelona behind Real Madrid in the Spanish Primera?!?! What was the point of getting Henry then?!?! Down but not out...
