What an exciting upcoming week of sports. Thursday is the start of the CA championship in which Tiger will go for his 6th straight PGA tour victory. I read Ron Sirak's article on Tiger today and have concluded, that you Mr. Sirak are the best golf writer for ESPN. Here is the article for those who wish to read it; http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/columns/story?columnist=sirak_ron&id=3301797 In any case, I hope Tiger does crush the field this week so all the hype will be on the Masters, which it will be anyway, in 3 weeks. But if Tiger does lose this week, which he wont, will he then lose the Masters? Will his streak end like the Rockets streak ended last night in a slaughtering blow out. 22 wins straight, impressive, but getting blown out at home to the Celtics, is a little disturbing. I think that just shows that Yao is really missed, especially when you have a team that is taking control of the paint as KG and the Celtics did.
Now everyone has field out their tournament bracket, just remember a few tips. There has not been all four #1 teams in the final four, for quite some time now. So it is pretty unlikely all four teams will make it there. That being said, there hasnt been a team higher than a #4 seed win the tournament in God knows how long. The last #4 team to even win it was Arizona back in the 90's. So all your sleeper picks from your 7 and 8 seeds, throw them out, it just wont happen. I have Kansas State winning against USC just because Beasley is better than Mayo. I do however want to see Tenn and Louisville play in the regional semi's because that would be a great matchup. From the looks of the bracket, I think Memphis has the easiest road to the final four. The only team that can match up with them is Pitt, and they arent even that good. Memphis shouldnt have any trouble with Texas after they take care of Pitt. Now my pick is just like everyone elses, but here we go...
